In a lot of modern homes, the desire for easy to clean, contemporary styled surfaces have become more popular and so many people are choosing to have one of the many styles of laminate or natural wood flooring in their homes but although these types of flooring are both fashionable and a common sight in many homes, carpets are still the preferred option for many people especially in bedrooms and living rooms. This is possibly due to the climate in the UK as carpet is generally warmer and gives a cosier feel to your home and surroundings. There is of course a major downside to carpeted floors and that is that they can get dirty particularly if there are pets or young children in the home. There are a few different models to choose from if you do decide to buy a carpet washer and depending on how much carpet you have will determine the size of the washer you need to buy. If you have large, carpeted areas a more substantial machine will be a better buy as the water tanks are larger so will need less emptying however you will need to consider where you are going to store it when not in use as they are quite bulky. A smaller model is a better option if storage space is a problem or even consider a wet and dry machine that can be used as a vacuum cleaner too.

Hiring a carpet washer machine can be quite costly if you need to clean the carpets on a regular basis and there is also the additional problem of transporting the carpet washer from the shop to your home however using a purpose-built machine will generally give better results as the motor is usually more powerful which means the carpets will dry quicker after a wash. Another alternative for those only wanting to clean the carpets occasionally is to hire a company to come in and clean the carpets for you. This is sometimes preferable as cleaning carpets is strenuous work especially if you have fitted carpets throughout.
