Furnishing your home with second hand furniture

Posted by in Home furniture

Furnishing a home can cost a small fortune and if you have recently just purchased a new home or have had to pay out on deposits and fees for your rental property, then you will probably be struggling to find the money for all the furniture. Buying everything new can quickly add up with the average sofa cost around £1500. If you have to furnish every room you could easily be in the range of five to ten thousand pounds, which for most of us is simply not possible.

Buying second hand furniture can really help cut costs. You can pick up a sofa that originally cost over a thousand pounds often for less than £300. Fridges and Freezers are also only a fraction of the price they were new and usually have a lot of life left in them. If you are weary about buying second hand products from private sellers then you could buy some that have been refurbished or that are sold on by a shop with a warranty. This will at least give you piece if mind that if they stop working in the short term you have some comeback.
