Keeping your bathroom clean without chemicals
As the trend for using more ecologically safe products in our homes increases more and more people are looking for alternatives to the host of chemical based cleaners that we find on our supermarket shelves. Manufacturers are realising that there is a market for these eco friendly products and many are beginning to respond by producing non chemical cleaners but there are ordinary household products that many of us have in our cupboards already that can be effective cleaners throughout our homes.
The most well-known of these products is white vinegar a substance that has many uses in and around the home. It can be used safely on most surfaces and is a fantastic degreaser and limescale remover. If the shower head in your shower is blocked a plastic bag containing white vinegar tied around the shower head so that it sits in the vinegar and left overnight will clear any blockage completely. A quick rinse the next day by turning on the shower will complete the treatment.
Another wonderful nonchemical cleaner is baking soda or bicarbonate of soda. This can be mixed with a little water to make a paste and can be used as a non-abrasive cleaner for baths and washbasins.
